Kiedyś, Jaime Sommers musiała godzić opiekę nad młodszą siostrą z pracą w charakterze barmanki a wszystko to do dnia w którym w jedną chwilę straciła całe dotychczasowe życie. W wyniku wypadku samochodowego doznała tak poważnych obrażeń, że nie powinna wciąż żyć... jednak z pomocą przyszła jej najnowsza technologia.
Budząc się w szpitalu Sommers odkryła, że część jej ciała stanowią elektroniczne materiały zastępcze, które dają jej niesamowite zdolności i olbrzymią siłę. Teraz, jako Bioniczna kobieta może jedynie wspominać trudy, które spotykały ją przed wypadkiem. Jej przyszłość leży bowiem w rękach bardzo wpływowych ludzi, którzy mają co do kobiety ogromne plany...
